University Hospital Bonn (UKB)

The University Hospital Bonn ( UKB ) was established on January 1, 2001 as an independent institution under public law. It replaced the previous medical facilities of the university. The UKB takes on tasks in health care, including high-performance medicine and public health. In addition, it ensures the connection between patient care and research and teaching at the Medical Faculty of the University of Bonn. With around 38 clinics and 31 institutes as well as 8,000 employees, the UKB belongs to one of the largest employers in Bonn. Every year, the UKB treats 350,000 outpatients and 50,000 inpatients as well as 33,000 emergency patients.
